Active IQ Level 2 Award in Instructing Studio Cycling

The Active IQ Award in Instructing Studio Cycling is at level 2 on the Regulated Qualifications Framework. It is also recognised by The Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) at level 2.

The aim of this qualification is to train learners, who already have knowledge and skills in fitness instruction, to a professionally competent level to plan and deliver safe and effective group cycling sessions.

Entry requirements:

Learners must hold an A Level 2 Fitness Instructing qualification: Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Gym/ETM) or Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing. Some experience of studio cycling is useful.

Course details

The Active IQ Level 2 Award in Instructing Studio Cycling provides the knowledge to plan and deliver safe and effective group cycling sessions while broadening the skills of fitness instructors to include instructing studio cycling sessions.

This course will include the following units:

This qualification comprises of two units (4 credits).

  • Unit 1 - Planning a Studio Cycling Session (R/503/0106)
  • Unit 2 - Instructing a Studio Cycling Session (D/503/0108).

Successful achievement of both units must be achieved for the full qualification.

Your assessment will include:

  • Coursework/Project
  • Practical Demonstration/Assignment.
