We want to give you the best possible chance of succeeding on your undergraduate or postgraduate course at BU.

Our preparatory programmes are designed to do just that, helping you to prepare for the university learning environment and ensuring that you are confident in your English language abilities. If you aren't sure whether you will need to complete a preparatory programme, check your country-specific pages to find out what is required for our various degree courses.

All of our preparatory programmes, whether pre-sessional English or academic pathway programmes, are delivered at Bournemouth University International College. This is run in partnership by the university and Kaplan International Colleges.

Completing one of these courses before you begin your degree is a great way to settle into life in the UK, learn more about what to expect when studying at university in this country and help you improve your English.

During your time at the Bournemouth University International College, you will have access to the main BU campuses and their facilities, which include the sports centre, library, student support services and restaurants.

You will also be an associate member of the Bournemouth University Students’ Union (SUBU) and can join SUBU’s clubs and societies.
