This is a guide to the normal entry requirements, assuming you’ve followed the French education system. An admissions tutor will study your application, so make sure you include your academic background and personal information when you apply.
Entry requirements vary depending on what sort of course you’re coming to BU to study.
- BU International College Foundation Certificates
You can undertake a Foundation Certificate before going on to an undergraduate course if you have successfully completed 12 years of schooling in France and achieved a minimum of IELTS (Academic) 5.0. - Undergraduate courses
You can apply to study a Bachelor's degree from year one if you hold a Baccalauréat, a Baccalauréat avec Option Internationale, a Brevet de Maîtrise, or a Brevet de Technicien (BT). - Top-up courses
If you have a Diplôme Universitaire de Technologie, a Brevet de Technicien Supérieur, or a Diplôme d’Etat de Technicien (two years), you can apply for a Top-up course. - Postgraduate courses
You can apply for a taught postgraduate course with us if you have a Diplôme, a Maîtrise (pre-2009), or a Licence. - Research programmes
You need any postgraduate degree to be considered for a BU research programme.
English Language requirements
If you have achieved a mark of 14 (bien) in English, where the co-efficient applied to the subject is greater than 1 in English as part of the Baccalaureat de l’Enseignement du Second Degre qualification (a mark of 12 may be accepted in some circumstances).
