Shahzad Qamar
MSc Wireless and Mobile Networks

I choose to study at Bournemouth University because of its good Design, Engineering and Computing faculty, facilities and learning environment. I was nervous to begin with because the educational system in the UK is tougher than Pakistan, but I quickly overcame this. The staff at BU were so helpful and friendly and the course was very well structured.

The best aspect of the course was the academic staff; they were really co-operative and guided me very well, making my course more interesting. Living and studying in Bournemouth was great too. Bournemouth is a relatively small town but it has beautiful beaches, sceneries and parks for social activities. Bournemouth is safer compared to other cities.

I was graduated in November 2010 with a distinction and then applied for an academic role in King Abdulaziz University Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and obtained the position of Lecturer. As well as teaching I am also working on research projects in the University. The knowledge I gained from Bournemouth University is helping me a lot in my job. The research methodologies I learned are awesome and it's really helpful for me in my job now, and possibly the reason that I now have four research papers published in reputable journals.

I would happily recommend Bournemouth University especially to international students because the University is really amazing; the learning environment, facilities, academic faculty, library and labs – almost everything is great at Bournemouth University.
