Active IQ Level 3 Certificate in Sports Massage (Soft Tissue Therapy) (QCF) (Intensive)

The Active IQ Certificate in Sports Massage (Soft Tissue Therapy) is at level 3 on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). You'll learn from a member of the Academy of Performance Coaching team in our practical skills labs, located on the Lansdowne Campus. 

This course is suitable for adults (aged 16+) wishing to pursue a career in sports massage (soft tissue therapy) with adults. The course runs for three weeks, and you'll have to attend Monday–Friday each week. You'll have the opportunity to practice on others, and should be prepared for other students on this course to practice on you.

Entry requirements:

There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification, although you should have good communication skills. Performing sports massage is a physical activity so it's important that you have a reasonable level of fitness

Course details

The Active IQ Certificate in Sports Massage (Soft Tissue Therapy) is at level 3 on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). You'll learn from a member of the Academy of Performance Coaching team in our practical skills labs, located on the Lansdowne Campus.

You'll have the opportunity to practice on others, and should be prepared for other students on this course to practice on you.

This course will include the following units:

Unit 1 – Anatomy and Physiology for Sports Massage
Unit 2 – Principles of Health and Fitness
Unit 3 – Understand the Principles of Soft Tissue Dysfunction
Unit 4 – Professional Practice in Sports Massage
Unit 5 – Sports Massage Treatments.

Note: You must pass all eight units to achieve the full qualification. Assessments will take place throughout the course.
