myHub and tracking your application
It is important that you access and log in to myHub regularly for information and communication about your application.
myHub is BU's online portal for anyone who has applied to the university. This is where all the details about your application are kept and updated, so you can track the progress of your application as well as communicate with our International Admissions Team.
The login details to your myHub account are sent to you via email soon after your application has been received. If you cannot remember your login details, contact our IT Service Desk on +44 (0)1202 965515 or via the IT Services website. You will need to provide your 7-digit student ID which can be found in your offer letter.
Meeting the conditions of your offer
Refer to your offer letter and check your myHub account to find a list of your offer conditions and outstanding actions. Once you meet the offer conditions, please upload your relevant document directly to your myHub account. If your offer is not updated within 4 weeks of providing your documents please contact us via our International Admissions Enquiry Form.
Accepting your offer
All offer holders:
To accept your offer and secure your place on the course, you must firmly accept your offer on UCAS or log in to your account on myHub if you directly applied to BU.
International offer holders:
To secure your place on the course, you must firmly accept your offer and pay the required tuition fee deposit. The deposit payment deadline is typically by 1 June for courses starting in September, and 1 November for January starts.
While we will not withdraw your offer if you are unable to pay the deposit by the stated deadline, your place on the course will not be secured until we receive the deposit commitment. Additionally, we cannot issue your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) which is required in order to apply for your Student visa.
We typically stop issuing CAS 4-6 weeks before your course start date, and visa processing times may vary depending on your country of residence. To ensure a smooth visa application process, we strongly advise that you meet the deposit deadline and avoid delays.
Deposits
To support international students in securing their place at Bournemouth University, all international undergraduate applicants will be required to pay a £5,000 deposit as part of their tuition fees. This deposit confirms your commitment to studying with us and helps ensure that we can provide you with the best possible student experience, including access to essential resources and support services from the moment you arrive.
Please note that deposits are non-refundable, except in specific circumstances outlined in the Student Fees Policy (see Section 3).
FAQ Page – How to pay your deposit
This page provides essential information about deposit payment and fee payments once you have received and accepted your offer.
To secure your place on the course, both international undergraduate and postgraduate students are required to pay a deposit.
It is essential that you pay your deposit by the deadline specified. Not paying the deposit on time may result in a delay to your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies), which is necessary for your Student visa application. Delayed payment can also impact your ability to enrol in the course for that intake, as visa processing times can vary depending on factors such as application volumes and individual circumstances.
To ensure a smooth process and avoid any disruptions to your enrolment, we strongly recommend making the deposit payment promptly.
Uploading all the requested documents to myHub
After you accept your offer, the next step is making sure you clear all the pending actions on your account in myHub. This could be any or all of the following:
- A legible copy of a valid passport
- Copy of your final certificate (original and/or translation)
- Copy of your final transcripts (original and/or translation)
- Copy of IELTS certificate or alternative recognised English language qualification
- Academic and/or professional references
- Personal statement
- Confirmation of any previous UK study
- Copy of any previous UK visas
A list of pending actions can be seen in your offer letter.
Undergraduate CAS & Visa Information
The Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) is a document issued by the University that you will need to apply for your Student visa.
To ensure you receive your CAS in time for your visa application, you must:
- Have an Unconditional offer that you have firmly accepted.
- Clear all pending actions on your account in myHub.
- Make a £5,000 deposit payment as part of your tuition fees (required for all international undergraduate applicants). Visit our how to pay your deposit webpages for more information.
When you have firmly accepted your offer, you will receive an Enroly CAS Shield invitation by email. Enroly CAS Shield is the online self-service system that enables you to upload all the vital information and documents we require before issuing your CAS. Visit our CAS Shield step-by-step guide for further information on the process.
We typically begin issuing CAS up to six months before your course start date. To ensure you receive yours in time for your visa application, we recommend completing all requirements as early as possible.
Graduate Visa scheme
After successfully completing your undergraduate or postgraduate degree, you may be eligible to stay in the UK for up to 2 years under the Graduate Visa scheme. PhD graduates may apply to stay for up to 3 years. This visa allows international students to remain in the UK to work or look for work after graduation.
