Postgraduate tuition fees for international students

The tuition fees you pay for your postgraduate course will vary depending on the subject area you are studying and the type of postgraduate study you are embarking on. The following is our guide to non-EU postgraduate fees for September 2018 and January 2019 entry. Please check the individual course pages to see the specific fees for each course.

  • Taught Master’s – £11,000-£14,500 for full-time study, depending on the subject, including qualifications such as MA, MSc and LLM
  • MBA – £14,000 (This is a business-specific course).

These fees are inclusive and cover all the essential course elements. You may be required to pay for optional or discretionary aspects of your studies, such as textbooks, optional placements and printing charges. We've done our best to highlight on our individual course pages the expected additional costs you may encounter whilst studying at BU to help you understand our provision and what you need to budget for.

You can find information about the tuition fees for postgraduate research degrees in our postgraduate research fees and funding section.

International (non-EU) students need to pay a non-refundable* £2,000 deposit to secure their place on a postgraduate course. You will need to pay your deposit by the date stated in your offer letter. The remainder of your fee will be payable on registration/enrolment.

*There are two exceptions to the non-refundable rule on the deposit:

  • You fail to meet the academic or English requirements of your offer
  • You are refused a visa to enter the UK, provided the reason for the refusal is not a fraudulent application.

Paying your fees and discounts

There are various ways you can pay your fees, if they are not being covered by a scholarship, and we also offer certain discounts on the cost of postgraduate study.
