Before you travel

Accommodation

For those travelling from overseas, your accommodation has been booked from 1 July to 4 July for three nights at one of the Oceana hotels. If you are arriving on 1 July, please feel free to make your way to the accommodation at your convenience. Check-in is available after 3pm and check-out is after 11am. We will send you confirmation of your hotel booking prior to your arrival.

You will be booked at one of the following Oceana hotels, which are next to each other:

  • The Cumberland Hotel – East Overcliff Drive, Bournemouth, BH1 3AF
  • The Suncliff Hotel – East Overcliff Drive, Bournemouth, BH1 3AA
  • The Ocean Beach Hotel – East Overcliff Drive, Bournemouth, BH1 3AA

You will be able to store your luggage at your accommodation if you arrive earlier. Your accommodation is situated close to Bournemouth town centre and award-winning beaches, with plenty of great dining options to choose from.

Your accommodation includes breakfast, which will be served between 7:00am and 9:30am on 2 and 3 July and 7:30am and 9:30am on 4 July. Wi-FI is available throughout the hotel and parking at the hotel is available subject to availability (please contact the hotel directly). When you arrive

Check in to your hotel

Check-in at your hotel is available after 3pm, but you can drop your bags at the hotel reception if you arrive earlier.

Transportation to the venue

A transfer service will be provided between your hotel and the event venue as per the schedule below. Please make sure that you are on the bus before the departing time as the transport will leave promptly at the time scheduled in the table.

If you are arriving on the day of the conference and travelling by train, you can either take a taxi from just outside Bournemouth train station to Talbot Campus, or the number 17 bus heading towards Poole. The university U1 bus also runs from Park Road bus station (5 min walk from the train station) to Talbot Campus.

WiFi on campus

To connect to WiFi whilst you are on campus, please join The Cloud.

Connection process:

  • No username or password is required initially to connect to _The Cloud
  • Select _The Cloud from the list of available networks
  • Upon connecting, a web portal will appear. Follow the prompts to set up an account or log in if you already have one.

Reception on Talbot Campus is located in Poole House, a short walk down the path from the Bus Hub.
