We are looking for an enthusiastic Demonstrator in Engineering Design to join a dynamic and highly qualified team. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, a real interest in teaching and learning as well as a thorough knowledge of the key technologies and craft that underpin Engineering Design.
Reporting to the Head of Department of Design & Engineering and working within the Design & Engineering Innovation Centre, you will contribute to the delivery of the undergraduate, postgraduate, and short courses and support research students in the Department and on occasion and in collaboration with appropriate members of the academic staff undertake marking of assignments. You will contribute to the sustained excellence of a student learning experience.
You will have a higher education qualification in a Mechanical or Production Engineering or related subject. You must also have related industrial experience, a sound understanding and knowledge of metal working techniques and production processes and excellent manufacturing skills with a variety of materials. A sound understanding and knowledge of wood and plastic working techniques and production processes is desirable.
This position is available part-time for 18.75 hours per week (0.5 FTE). Normal working days will be Wednesday (afternoon), Thursday and Friday. There may be exceptions to the working pattern based on the needs of the business, but that will be agreed with the post holder in advance of such changes.
