Bournemouth University’s (BU) vision is worldwide recognition as a leading university for inspiring learning, advancing knowledge and enriching society through the fusion of education, research and practice. Our highly skilled and creative workforce is comprised of individuals drawn from a broad cross section of the globe, who reflect a variety of backgrounds, talents, perspectives and experiences that help to build our global learning community.
BU is fostering the growth of research that is relevant to society. To support this, Research Development & Support (RDS) is seeking to appoint a Funding Development Officer on a full-time, established basis.
The post holder will be responsible for operational support of funding applications to external bodies. As one of a team of Officers and Facilitators, you will play a pivotal role in providing support for the University’s research and knowledge exchange activities, as well as being the first point of contact for academic colleagues submitting funding applications.
You will have demonstrable experience of administration in a large organisation, with some knowledge and interest in the research and knowledge exchange area of Higher Education, plus an understanding of external research funding bodies.
You must be customer focused, numerate and have excellent communication and organisational skills and a commitment to service excellence. You will support, grant and tender submissions, including costing and pricing, producing contractual documentation, checking eligibility and funder guidance, and institutional approval and submission. You will provide professional and specialist advice to academic colleagues on all aspects of funding development activity.
This position can be offered on a full or part-time basis or as a job share. Please indicate your preference at the top of the personal statement.
In return for your talents, we offer a generous remuneration and benefits package, as well as flexible working hours.
