More than just a job

Our vision is worldwide recognition as a leading university for inspiring learning, advancing knowledge and enriching society through the fusion of education, research and practice. Our highly skilled and creative workforce is comprised of individuals drawn from a broad cross section of the globe, who reflect a variety of backgrounds, talents, perspectives and experiences that help to build our global learning community.

When you join BU, you become a part of a learning community that strives to make an impact on the world around us – aiming for a more sustainable, inclusive and healthy society. Our motto is to learn is to change and it's a principle that runs through everything we do. If successful we will provide personal and professional development to help you thrive and achieve your full potential.

The opportunity

We have an exciting job share opportunity to join our Human Resources and Organisational Development team as an Organisational Development Adviser and to contribute to the delivery of an excellent service that supports the University’s vision and values.

As part of a team of high performing professional experts aligned to BU2025, you will work in collaboration with the wider OD and HR teams and other stakeholders to support faculties and services to deliver organisational design and change, and design and deliver responsive and innovative business initiatives, events and high quality organisationally aligned solutions to further the development of BU.

About you

You will have experience of designing, facilitating, delivering and evaluating high quality OD interventions, learning and development provision and providing organisationally aligned solutions and professional support and advice on a range of organisational and staff development issues. This will include overseeing corporate induction and being involved in and facilitating organisational design and change, leadership development and talent management, staff engagement and recognition and coaching and mentoring schemes.

You will take responsibility for innovation and planning relevant activities to develop BU, embedding a positive staff experience and positively influencing a culture of staff engagement and wellbeing and use your insight and your experience to build leadership and organisational capability to enable and support the delivery of sustainable organisational change.

Why join us?

We’re proud to say that BU is a diverse and inclusive place to work, study and visit.

We recognise that wellbeing is of paramount importance, and we provide a comprehensive wellbeing programme with confidential independent support service 24/7. We offer many family-friendly benefits with generous family leave provisions and support for carers.

This position is available on a part-time, job share basis for 22.2 hours per week.

This position does not meet the eligibility requirements for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route within the UK Visa and Immigration service’s Points Based System.  Therefore, BU will not be able to sponsor individuals who require permission to work to carry out this position.
