Bournemouth University’s vision is worldwide recognition as a leading university for inspiring learning, advancing knowledge and enriching society through the fusion of education, research and practice. Our highly skilled and creative workforce is comprised of individuals drawn from a broad cross section of the globe, who reflect a variety of backgrounds, talents, perspectives and experiences that help to build our global learning community.

The Faculty of Health and Social Sciences (HSS) is central to this vision, working closely with practice partners to prepare and develop health care and social work professionals to provide high quality care.  The Faculty is situated at Lansdowne Campus, in central Bournemouth and close to its beautiful beaches and amenities.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to be responsible for the day-to-day allocation, management and administration of specific professional practice and standard placements, helping to ensure that all students meet the training requirements of all HSS programmes in liaison with appropriate academic members of staff. This post will particularly support degree apprenticeships. You will need to demonstrate significant administrative experience coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will have experience in using databases and developing reports, and the ability to manage a complex workload.

You will be a customer-focused individual with the ability to liaise with internal and external colleagues at all levels.  You should be flexible in your approach, and able to manage deadlines effectively, while providing specialist knowledge and support to students, academic staff and external stakeholders. Strong organisational flair, combined with a proactive approach is essential, as is the ability to work both independently and as a highly-effective team member.

This post is available on a part time basis for 18.5 hours / 0.5 FTE each week.

This post requires a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

BU values and is committed to an inclusive working environment.  We seek a diverse community through attracting, developing and retaining staff from different backgrounds to contribute to inspirational learning, advancing knowledge and enriching society.  To support and enable our staff to achieve a balance between work and their personal lives, we will also consider proposals for flexible working or job share arrangements.
