Dr Kristin Skoog is a Senior Lecturer in Media History. Her research is centred on media history, and especially the role of radio in post-war reconstruction, networks and transnational exchanges in broadcasting, and the history of women’s radio and women broadcasters. She has authored several publications exploring the history of women’s radio and women broadcasters, and is the co-founder of the Women’s Radio in Europe Network (WREN). Recent publications include the co-edited journal issue ‘Women and radio: sounding out new paths in women's history’ in Women's History Review (2019), and the co-edited journal issue on ‘Transnational Broadcasting’ in Feminist Media Histories (2019), and an authored chapter about the BBC’s war correspondent Audrey Russell, published in the book War Remains (2018).

Kristin is a member of Entangled Media Histories (EMHIS) - a transnational research and teaching network for media historians that has worked to create an arena for transnational dialogue on the historical dimensions of transborder and transmedial flows using the concept of 'entangled media history'. As a member of BU’s History Research Group she is working to develop and promote media history in research and education. Her main teaching duties include the BA (Hons) History and she supervises postgraduate research students.
