We’ve got some fun activities planned on campus to celebrate the first week of term and welcome all our students to (hopefully) sunny Bournemouth!
Take some time out between lectures to enjoy an ice-cream, weave your hopes for the coming year into our “Wishing Net” and keep your eyes open for some of the pop-up performances that will be happening in various locations around our campuses to add a little extra sparkle to your day. Or, if you're feeling energetic, join in with some of our scheduled dance demonstrations.
Visit the support services games zone to challenge your friends to a quick game of giant Jenga, giant Connect 4 or Cornhole, and don’t forget to add your own unique contribution to our kindness wall when you’re passing.
Also, our sustainability team will be leading a variety of climate conscious campus tours including a litter pick and a visit to the bees.
If it all feels a bit much and you want to step away from the hustle and bustle for a while, then why not visit the Pocket of Peace tent where you can find a quiet corner to do some mindful craft activities and enjoy some healthy refreshments. Maybe sign up for a free half-hour yoga session while you’re there…
Whoever you are, you’ll find something for you. You’re an important part of the BU community and we’re so pleased to be able to welcome you onto campus.
Join us on Wednesday 29 September at 5:30pm to meet new friends from all over the world, share information and insights about your hometown and learn about others' homes and cultures. During the evening there will be a quiz (with a range of prizes, including hoodies!) and cuisines to try from across the globe.
As part of the event we are asking each student to bring a small gift (of no more than £5 in value) that represents your home country/town, and in return you receive a gift from someone from another country/town.
This is a free event, but because we need to know how many people will be attending you must register for the event in advance.
