Santander Universities have launched their 2015 Big Ideas campaign and are looking for your creative ideas to make them your bank of choice in the future.
Big Ideas was created by Santander to help overcome some of the key technological issues facing the financial industry. Through Big Ideas, they aim to help individuals identify and develop solutions, with participants retaining ownership of their work.
Santander are posing three challenges, looking for innovative solutions to each:
- The future of semantic search – supporting Santander understand how to answer customer queries
- The future of digital authentication - how can banks provide strong security for customers performing transactions in the digital world?
- The future of virtual banking - virtual reality is the seamless transition from the physical to the virtual world – how can it be used to improve Santander’s customer experience?
There’s £20,000 up for grabs which is made up of prizes for different categories such as the ‘future of virtual banking’ and ‘best overall phase 1 submission’.

Santander’s Innovation team will be hosting an online WebEx session on 1 December for everyone interested in participating in the initiative, outlining the challenge and requirements and answering questions - register your interest in participating.
Deadlines
The deadline for phase one submissions is 15 January 2016. Successful candidates will find out on 22 January 2016 and be invited to an online session to discuss phase 2 in more detail.
