As the final project of their course, students are asked to create an innovative solution to a problem they may have seen in practice throughout their course. The conference sees students present their projects throughout the day giving them practice at both presenting their work and also creating a poster of their research.
Dr Bernadette Waters, Occupational Therapy Lecturer, said “It’s amazing to see all the people who’ve come from far and wide to see the students speak. It’s really lovely to celebrate the day with the students.”
Dr Osman Ahmed, Physiotherapy lecturer said "It’s been a privilege to lead the students on this unit and the innovations that they have created have all been cutting edge. It’s exciting to hear that some of their ideas have been taken up by organisations in the sector and I hope to see these come to fruition in the weeks ahead".
Gail Brown, a Physiotherapy student, said “We’re showcasing exciting new technologies and interventions for the profession, so the university are sending us out into the professional world with lots of ideas and skills. It’s really good to have this experience.”
