A film made by Bournemouth University’s Redballoon Productions has been shortlisted for a prestigious EVCOM Clarion Award.
RedBalloon Productions is the professional production arm of the Faculty of Media and Communication at BU and has been producing corporate and broadcast media since 2000.
Written and directed by Trevor Hearing, ‘Supporting People Struggling with Chronic Back Pain’ is intended to provoke discussion and challenge assumptions around this sensitive subject and was made for Oxford University Hospital Trust researcher Francine Toye.
The short research film has been nominated for an EVCOM Clarion Award in the Education category which recognises performance in corporate social responsibility and sustainability in business.
Unusually, the film script was written using verbatim quotes taken from Francine’s research, drawn from the words of over 1,000 healthcare professionals, doctors and nurses.
The awards ceremony will take place in London on 14 July at the Seven Dials Club in Covent Garden.
‘Supporting People Struggling with Chronic Back Pain’ can be viewed on youtube or vimeo.
