To ensure our Windows computers work as efficiently as possible, IT Services are updating all BU Windows computers with the latest security updates. The deployment of these updates will start on the evening of Tuesday 27 March 2018 and will run until the morning of Thursday 12 April 2018, at which point any computers that have not yet installed the security updates will be forced to do so. During this time the computer will reboot to complete the installation.
If you need to turn off any computers at the end of the day, please use the ‘restart’ option, do not choose the shutdown option.
Any computers that are switched off overnight will automatically install the updates when next switched on – this may cause an interruption or delay when first turned on.
Scheduled IT maintenance – Tuesday 27 to Thursday 29 March between 00.00am - 08.30am
As part of IT Services regular maintenance to ensure our systems integrity and to minimise security risks, we will be updating servers as recommended by suppliers. The work will take place out of hours between 00.00am – 8.30am on Tuesday 27, Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 March. During this period all services should be considered at risk for a short time.
