Working with our colleagues at Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospital Trust, the Making TRACS to improve nurse retention project team have developed a prototype interactive web portal designed for nurses to provide them with a one-stop shop of useful resources about key factors linked to nurse retention. This is called support4nurses, and is organised around the categories of our nurse retention model:
T – Transition points in nurses careers
R – Resilience to overcome emotional, physical and psychological adversity within the workplace
A – Authentic leadership styles for empowered leaders and their teams
C – Commitment to valuing staff by the organisation
S -Supporting healthy working lives
We will soon be asking senior nurse students to look at the web portal and give us feedback. This will enable us to improve the web portal prior to launching it at Bournemouth Hospital for staff to use in late summer.
