Wednesday 16 October is #Restart a Heart Day. This is part of an international campaign to raise awareness of cardiac arrest and teach people how to perform CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation). BU is taking part in this initiative organising our very own #Restart a Heart Day event.
The event will take place on Wednesday 16 October from 10am-3pm on our Talbot Campus, in the courtyard area outside the Student Centre (weather permitting).
We will have practitioners, paramedic students and first aiders demonstrating/teaching basic life support skills to BU students, members of staff and visitors. We will also have CPR videos, VR gadgets with cardiac arrest themed activities, our new range of manikins for practising your skills along with defibrillators and monitors providing real-time feedback.
This is open to the whole BU community as we would like as many people as possible to learn this life saving skill. It only takes five minutes and you may be able to save a life.
If you have any questions or queries about this event please contact Debora Almeida, lecturer in Operating Department Practice, on [email protected] or extension 64102.
