PhD student Tabitha Baker was asked by NEXTEUK, a programme run by Queen Mary University London's Centre for European Research, to produce a blog post explaining the Leave vote by addressing affect and polarisation. The NEXTEUK programme undertakes research, teaching and public engagement activities relating to the future of EU - UK relations following Brexit. Using a pyschosocial framework, Tabitha's blog post addresses the affective nature of Brexit along with its geographical polarisation to help understand emotional influences that underpin political division.
