The UNIBUS service is currently operating a reduced service to support face-to-face teaching and critical work on campus.
In light of the current period of national restrictions, the university has reviewed the cancellation policy for UNIBUS annual bus pass holders.
UNIBUS annual bus passes purchased through halls accommodation contracts
If you were issued with a UNIBUS annual pass through your halls inclusive accommodation package, your annual bus pass is paid for as part of your rent payments each term. The cancellation period for returning your bus pass has now been extended up to 29 March 2021. If you no longer require your bus pass then you can contact your accommodation team who will process this cancellation. Please e-mail your accommodation provider with a picture of your bus pass, clearly showing the 18 digit bus pass number.
Cancellation requests made by 12 February 2021 will result in either a full credit or full refund for instalment 2 of your bus pass payment. The mechanism will depend on your accommodation provider.
Cancellation requests made between 13 February and 29 March 2021 will result in either a pro-rata refund or a pro-rata credit for instalment 2 of your bus pass payment. The mechanism will depend on your accommodation provider.
Any cancellation request received by 29 March 2021, will result in no charge being made for instalment 3 of your bus pass payment.
UNIBUS annual bus passes purchased online from UNIBUS
The UNIBUS service operator Go SouthCoast have relaxed the 90 day from purchase cancellation condition until 29 March 2021. Anyone who has purchased an annual bus pass online which is still active and valid, can request a refund before this date.
What do I do with my cancelled UNIBUS pass?
If you choose to cancel your UNIBUS before 29 March 2021, you will no longer be able to use the pass to travel on UNIBUS or more bus zone A services. We recommend that you keep your card in case you choose to reactivate it in the future. You can do this at: www.unibuses.co.uk/thekey
What if I have missed the deadline?
Unfortunately, we are unable to process refund/cancellation requests received after 29 March 2021.
If you are a halls inclusive student and have not cancelled your bus pass prior to the deadline date then the full amount will be due to your accommodation providers.
