World Wellbeing Week (Monday 23 to Friday 27 June) is a time each year where people from around the world come together to think about and celebrate what it mean to feel well and live a happy, healthy life.
To celebrate this initiative, the Doctoral College invites all our postgraduate researchers to join us for a week of free wellness activities, which aim to help your mental health, emotional balance and create social connections.
Herbal tea and arts & crafts
Enjoy some arts and crafts in the sun whilst relaxing with herbal teas!
Visit the outside patio area at any time during the hours below and help yourselves to tea and various crafts.

Community Garden volunteering
Spend some time enjoying nature this Wellbeing Week and volunteer in the garden to support the mission to grow food for each other and those in need.

Where: BU Community Garden, Talbot Campus
Established in January 2025, SUBU has been building the garden supported by grants from BU Estates, Neighbourly and Students’ Union as well as donations from the community. The Community Garden is located on Talbot Campus, behind Poole Gateway Building. The new garden will grow organic fruit and vegetables to supply the SUBU Community Kitchen.
Seed bombs & sweet treats
Join us for a fun, hands-on activity where you'll make your own eco-friendly seed bombs using clay, soil, and seeds. Take these home with you and plant them in your garden!

There will also be some delicious, sweet treats for you to enjoy!

Table tennis
Last year’s table tennis wellbeing event was a huge success, so we’ve decided to do it all over again!
Whether you’re an experienced player, or have never played before, come along and give this session a go. This is a great opportunity to unwind, socialise with other PGR students, and get active in a relaxed environment. This will not be a competitive tournament, just simply come and have a friendly hit.
Equipment is provided, but you feel free to bring your own should you wish.

Unwind and paint your own little summer inspired canvas to take home for decoration over tasty mocktails, laughter and summery bites!
