Ten BU alumni gathered in Guangzhou for a special networking dinner on Saturday 10 January, bringing together graduates from different cohorts and career stages. The event welcomed both mid-career professionals who graduated around a decade ago and more recent graduates who are just beginning their professional journeys.
The evening provided a valuable platform for alumni to reconnect with their alma mater and, importantly, with one another. The mix of experience levels created a dynamic and supportive environment, with established professionals generously sharing industry insights, career advice and practical guidance with newer graduates. Attendees expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to learn from those who have successfully navigated the transition from university to the workplace.
Beyond strengthening personal and professional connections, the event also highlighted the strength and diversity of the BU alumni community in the region. It provided an opportunity to identify alumni who are keen to collaborate more closely with the university’s recruitment team, supporting future outreach activities in China. By sharing their authentic student experiences and career journeys, these alumni can play a vital role in inspiring prospective students and showcasing the long-term value of a BU education.
The Guangzhou dinner forms part of BU’s ongoing commitment to building a vibrant global alumni network - one that fosters lifelong connections, professional collaboration and meaningful engagement with future generations of students.
