What’s your Clearing story?

I want to apply to BU now to start in September

You can apply now via UCAS Extra:

- UCAS Extra: another chance to apply: this route offers another opportunity to apply for a university place after the 14 January Equal Consideration Deadline (ECD). Extra opened on 26 February and runs until 1 July

- One choice at a time: You can make multiple choices before the deadline, but you can only choose one at a time and once you've declined an offer, you can't retrieve it

- No offers? Clearing is next: If you decline an offer or your application is unsuccessful, you can still apply for another course through Extra until 30 June. If you don't hold any offers after 2 July, you will be able to add an additional choice through Clearing

Not yet made a uni application? Why wait until Clearing? Start your application now.

What if I receive unexpected exam results?

-  Don't panic: If you're an existing BU offer holder, don't worry, we will look at your whole application so we may still confirm your place, even if you haven't quite met the conditions. Check your status on UCAS on results day

- Call our Clearing line: If we're not able to offer you a place, there may still be alternative options, so you can call our Clearing line when it opens. Have your UCAS ID ready so we can look up your details.

I’m thinking of changing my mind and switching to BU

Once you have your results, we would love to hear from you and welcome you to BU!

If you have an unconditional firm offer with another university but would like to apply to BU through Clearing:

- Call our Clearing line: Call our Clearing helpline when it opens in July. Have your UCAS ID ready so we can check available courses

- Chat through your course options: We'll discuss your options with you and if there's a place on your chosen course and you meet the entry requirements, we'll be able to offer you a place. Some courses may require an interview or we may need some more information before a place can be confirmed, but we will discuss this with you during the call

- Add BU as your Clearing choice: If you have a place on your chosen course, you'll need to log onto UCAS to self-release from your accepted offer and then add your BU course as a 'Clearing choice' under the 'your choices' tab

- Apply through the BU website: You can also apply through Clearing on our website when Clearing opens in early July.
