The Global Talent Programme has been developed with employers to help you discover and demonstrate your potential to work in a truly global way.
It's a free, innovative, extra-curricular award tailored to your needs. The GTP includes employer-led workshops, self-directed e-learning, team assignments, business challenges and activities to help you evidence that you've crossed physical and cultural boundaries to deliver outstanding results. It is a perfect addition to your studies, enhancing your future and recognising your achievement above and beyond your academic degree.

How it works
You'll be assigned a number of digital badges, which are required to achieve your Global Talent Award.
Work at your own pace over the course of your studies. You can choose to do individual badges or to complete the whole programme.
For each badge you will have to complete three activities (at least one of them should be core).
- The core activities are interactive workshops that you can attend in person or complete online. They are led by inspiring industry and academia guests.
- The optional activities range from online games, volunteering, industry experience, cultural and community events and many more.
Browse and choose your activities from the GTP portal – the one stop-shop to book workshops and events, access learning materials, upload files and monitor your progress in real time.
It is estimated that you'll spend a few hours of your time each week to work towards completing your chosen activities.
On successful completion of the programme, you'll receive a BU Global Talent Award at our annual Awards Ceremony.
The Global Talent Award is an achievement recognised by employers and academics alike, justifying that you have managed unique challenges and experiences, and making a key talking point at interviews.
20% of students complete the whole programme within one year
1,000 students have already registered; completing 2,750 individual activities and 700 badges
You can find out more about the GTP at the weekly drop-in session every Thursday, 1pm-4.30pm, in the Careers Centre (outside the library, Talbot Campus).

Badges and stages
At each GTP stage you will focus on key global workplace themes: global citizenship, collaboration, skills development and research and innovation. These are attributes that employers are looking for regardless of the industry.
Pick individual badges or qualify for your award by completing:
- Three badges (stages one to three) – Undergraduate Global Talent Award
- Four badges (stages one to four) – Postgraduate Global Talent Award
Choose three activities (at least one should be core) to complete each badge.
Select from a menu of 100+ options – see some examples of core and optional activities.
The full list of activities is updated on a regular basis on the GTP portal and includes opportunities to travel, connect, volunteer, participate in games, competitions and many more.
