Providing personal information through the BU website

When you are using our website we will sometimes ask you to provide identifiable information about yourself for a specific purpose that will usually lead to direct contact between BU and yourself.

This will be where you are registering to attend an event, sending us a specific query or enquiry or applying for one of our courses, and will involve giving us your name and contact details along with other information. You will usually provide this information through a form or through our myHub application portal, accessed via links on the website.

Where you are asked to provide personal information of this kind you will be given a link to the relevant BU Privacy Notice. This will explain how and why we will be processing your details and gives the other information required under the data protection legislation.  Our main Privacy Notices can be found here. These notices give information on your rights as a data subject under the data protection legislation and how you can raise any queries or concerns about processing of your personal data.

It is important that you take the usual steps to protect your personal information while using our website, particularly if you are completing an online application or other form. These would include not leaving your computer unlocked while you are in the process of providing information and considering the security of the internet connection you are using.

Our website contains links to other websites. These other websites aren't governed by this privacy statement and we don't have any control over how they will use your information and protect your privacy.  If you follow a link to another website, before providing any personal information through the site you should look at its privacy statement(s) to make sure you are happy with how they will handle your information. See our website terms and conditions for more information.
