At BU our vision is to create a stimulating, challenging and rewarding University experience, through sharing a unique fusion of education, research and professional practice and inspiring our students and staff to enrich the world. Our highly skilled and creative workforce is comprised of individuals drawn from a broad cross section of the globe, and who reflect a variety of backgrounds, talents, perspectives and experiences to build our global learning community.

The Faculty of Media and Communication at Bournemouth University is one of the largest of its kind in the world and has a global reputation for combining research and teaching practice.  The Faculty has an enviable reputation for media production and has developed a popular and successful suite of media production programmes at both undergraduate and post graduate levels.

We are looking for an enthusiastic technical Demonstrator in Post Production to join a dynamic and highly qualified team. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, a real interest in teaching and learning as well as a thorough knowledge of the key technologies that underpin post.

Key to the role is the ability to teach the use, to current professional standards, of video post-production software and systems, including appropriate and current workflows for film and television. You will be able to teach students the underlying technical principles of post-production, such as but not limited to codecs and compression. You will ideally bring professional experience to the role, enriching the students’ knowledge beyond that which can be found in online and printed instruction. Knowledge of AVID Media Composer is desirable as well as being able to teach Adobe Premiere, After Effects and DaVinci Resolve. We are looking for a self-motivated problem solver with a willingness to further develop their skills to support the evolution of the field.
