Miriam Phillips is an award-winning journalist and lecturer in Multimedia Journalism in the School of Journalism, English and Communication.

Miriam has written for many of the UK's daily newspapers and was Chief Reporter for Newsquest at a daily newspaper in Dorset. She ran editorial campaigns, managed the website and specialised in investigations and crime reporting across the South. At the start of the boom of hyperlocal sites Miriam help set up local news websites for Northcliffe and Trinity Mirror in boroughs of London. Using this knowledge of hyperlocal news, Miriam launched her own publishing company in 2015 and published a luxury magazine with all the news and features for Poundbury, Dorset. Miriam maintains her links in the industry and regularly writes for national newspapers including The Guardian and The Observer.
