Our men’s and women’s varsity football teams benefit from high-level coaching through the AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust, support which saw the Men’s First Team reach the BUCS National Trophy final and the women’s team challenge in the Conference Cup final.
That wasn’t the only on-pitch success, with the Men’s First and Third teams winning their leagues and the women’s team taking top spot too.
Steve Cuss, head of AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust and coach and manager of BU’s varsity football teams, commented: “It has been a privilege to work with BU’s football teams this year and I’m really proud of their successes. We are all looking forward to next season, when I hope we will continue to bring success.”
Sports Operations Manager at SportBU Barry Squires added: “With the support of AFC Bournemouth’s excellent coaching staff, Bournemouth University football club has flourished with numerous cup and league successes.
“In the past couple of years they have established themselves in the top tiers of British university football and we look forward to continuing this run of success into the future, as well as joining forces on a number of community projects.”
