After the successful launch of the Graduate Skills Programme during Your Career Week, from this week CareersBU will be delivering weekly Graduate Skills Masterclasses for all BU students!
Boosting your skills now and for the future, these in-person masterclasses are designed with and delivered by industry and provide a practical insight into different career options. The focus of the masterclasses are to develop employability skills, provide an insight into different career options and to network with other students and employers.
The first core graduate skills masterclass is on Wednesday 26 October 2-4pm on Talbot Campus.
Self-Awareness Masterclass: Reflecting on your identity and impact
Self-Awareness stage is the initial stage of anyone's career planning journey. Taking the time to reflect on who you are and what you want, as well as getting to grips with the different opportunities open to you and the way the job market works, will help you make good decisions in the future.
Any Graduate Skills Masterclasses that you attend can be used towards Graduate Skills+, BU's extracurricular skills award recognising you for your extracurricualr achievements beyond your degree. Find out more information about Graduate Skills+.
We have had over 50 different companies and industries represented on the programme in the past including big global brands like Microsoft, IBM, Google, TikTok, Facebook and British Airways. As well as the larger well-known companies, we also have a range of smaller to medium size companies who deliver our masterclasses as well as others who have set up their own businesses and can give insights into how you might develop a business idea and the support available in the local area.
Sustainability and Social Responsibility is a very important part of what we offer on the programme and is woven into the Graduate Skills Masterclasses that we deliver and the resources we promote to you.
All of our Graduate Skills Masterclasses are aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and we have recently been awarded the Excellence for Education in Sustainable Development Award from BU for our Project Lab.
