Want to help shape our environmental action at BU? Join our Climate Assembly on food and waste - Tuesday 14 March, 2pm – 3:30pm on Talbot Campus.
The Climate Assembly is a space for students, staff, and the local community to hear what we’re doing to promote sustainability in different areas of work and then feed into our plans. They have three parts:
- Presentation giving an overview about current BU practice
- Discussion and idea-sharing
- Agree on recommendations to be taken to BU Sustainability Committee for approval
These Assemblies are a critical part of our Climate & Ecological Crisis Action Plan (CECAP) in terms of holding us to account and to ensure our approach is inclusive and shaped by our community.
During this Assembly, we will be focusing on our catering and food services. This will cover two main areas: firstly, the actual food we sell, as well as the waste that is produced from this. The Assembly will be attended by representatives from Chartwells, who run our BU catering outlets, and SUBU, who run the SUBU Shop and other outlets.
This opportunity is open to anyone, whether you consider yourself to be knowledgeable of the area or not. It is an inclusive session aimed to get a broad representation from all areas of our community.
