All full-time undergraduate students continuing studies in 2026/27 can now reapply for student finance.
The easiest way to reapply is online, and the sooner you do this, the better, as it can take up to six weeks to process your application. So be prepared to have some money in your bank account for your first few weeks of term, as there is no guarantee the money will be in your account by the start of your studies.
Visit the gov.uk website, where you'll find a step by step guide to reapplying for a Tuition Fee and Maintenance Loan as well as more information about additional financial support. It takes less than 30 minutes to apply, and you can directly upload your evidence to the website. You'll also need to update your application if your circumstances change i.e. if you change your course or if you change where you're going to live - for example, with your parents instead of halls.
Important
If you decide to change your course, either by taking a placement year or continuing your studies, this will affect your student funding. To ensure you receive the correct Maintenance Loan and Tuition Fee Loan, you will need to let both your Programme Team and Student Finance know. This YouTube video provides helpful guidance on how to change your student finance application.
