MA Advertising student Saeeda Dean took part in a competition run by Epoch, a marketing agency that have been providing live briefs for BU’s MA Advertising students for the past three years and also run the Epoch Academy, one-day work experience workshop.
At this year’s Epoch Academy, attendees were set a brand identity brief including the development of a packaging design for the client’s product. Saeeda submitted a response to the brief that really impressed the team at Epoch and resulted in her being awarded with the Epoch Academy Silver prize.
Saeeda commented on her experiences: “The workshop was amazing! We learnt about the creative process as conducted by Epoch and we did a rebranding project for one of their clients”.
In addition to a cash prize that Saeeda won for coming second, MA Advertising programme leader Rutherford confirmed, “Saeeda has also been offered an internship at Epoch as the first step towards what promises to be a very successful career.”
Saeeda also talked about her experience at BU: “BU's support was vital as I wouldn't have received this opportunity if I hadn't performed well in my 'Creative Strategy for Advertising' unit. This brief was set by Epoch who virtually sat in on our final presentations.”
