The Royal Television Society (RTS) offers bursary schemes to support talented students from low-income backgrounds who are passionate about pursuing a career in television, film or digital content production.
The bursaries available include:
- TV Production & Journalism Bursary – with further opportunities to be considered for a Steve Hewlett Scholarship, Beryl Vertue Scholarship or STV Bursaries.
- Digital Innovation Bursary – with further opportunities to be considered for an Andy Taylor Foundation Scholarship or STV Bursaries.
This opportunity is open is currently open to students studying any subject area at undergraduate or Higher National Diploma (Level 5 or 6), who can demonstrate an interest in a future career in a related media industry.
Applications for the 2026 bursaries are now open and will close at 5pm on Wednesday 29 July.
Students selected for a scheme will receive:
- A minimum of £1,500 financial support per academic year
- Free access to all RTS events, networking opportunities, screenings and lectures
- A personal industry mentor
- Free RTS Membership
- Free access to the RTS Mini MBA upon graduation.
