In the Graduate Prospect Outcomes category, which measures the numbers of graduates in high-skilled employment or further study, BU students are also found to be among the best-placed in the country. Product Design (in the Art & Design category) leads the way with a 2nd place ranking in the UK, while Marketing came 6th and Nursing and Midwifery 10th.
Among other achievements:
Anthropology and Paramedic Science rank 8th in the UK for Student Satisfaction, reflecting the quality of students’ wider university experience
Paramedic Science ranks 7th for Continuation, reflecting high rates of students continuing their studies through to successful completion
Forensic Science and Tourism (placed in the Tourism, Transport, Travel & Heritage Studies subject listing) both rank 7th for Research Quality.
Professor Niamh Downing, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost of Bournemouth University, said: "These rankings reflect the hard work of our staff and students and build on our recent success in the WhatUni Student Choice awards last month, which placed BU as 1st in the South West region.
"Our performance across multiple subject areas and categories provides reassurance to our current and future students that their university is committed to providing them with best experience possible. As well as high-quality education, this highlights the opportunities we provide through work placements, research and community engagement, all of which help our students graduate with the confidence and skills for their chosen careers.
"As a key institution in our local area, we committed to making a positive difference for society. Through our teaching, research and partnerships, we will continue working alongside businesses, local government and communities to address challenges, create opportunities and deliver lasting benefits for the regions we serve."
