Throughout our partnership with AFC Bournemouth we have worked on a number of community projects together, and plan to collaborate on many more initiatives in the future.

In many cases, we've tied our existing activities, such as our schools outreach work, into activities AFC Bournemouth are already carrying out. As a result, the schools we visit benefit from having input from the university and the football club, and with our students joining up with AFC Bournemouth's outreach programme, we can engage with even more youngsters.

For example, BU graduate Rob Mitchell recently visited Queen Elizabeth's School in Wimborne to talk to students about his job at AFC Bournemouth, and how his education helped him get there.

We run joint events with AFC Bournemouth within the community, invite them to get involved in big occasions at BU - including our Festival of Learning and Arrivals Week - and join them at their main events. This summer, we're planning to link some of our Festival of Learning activities to their Family Day.

We've also worked with AFC Bournemouth under their Green Goals initiative, with a student-organised clean up of Merrick Park funded by the scheme as far back as 2012, highlighting our longstanding collaboration with our local football team.
