Once you have completed and submitted an application form, BU will shortlist applicants for interview.

We will be looking for evidence that you meet all of the essential criteria listed in the person specification and, ideally, some or all of the desirable criteria.

We’ll contact you via email within one month of the closing date if you have been shortlisted for the next stage of the selection process, so don’t worry if you do not hear from us straight away.

If you do not hear from us within one month, please assume that you have not been successful on this occasion. Should this be the case, we hope that this will not deter you from applying for other jobs advertised by BU.

Interviews

Interview panels will usually include the line manager for the job and other stakeholders from within the university.

You may also be asked to undertake other selection activities, for example, presentations or computer-based tests. Details of these arrangements will be given in your invitation to interview email.

You will be required at interview to provide original documentation of proof of your right to work in the UK.

Please review the Guidance on the Immigration, Asylum Nationality Act 2006 (pdf 63kb) for further details.

Appointment

If you are successfully appointed to the post you have applied for, you will be sent an appointment letter including details of your offer of employment with BU. Your employment with us will be conditional upon you satisfying some or all of the following requirements as applicable to the role:
