Alumni email

If you graduated after 2008, you can keep on using your BU email account for as long as you want to.

For those who have Office 365 please sign in to your email account from any computer with internet access by visiting:

If you don't have access to Office 365, please raise a request via the IT Service Desk on 01202 965515, or +44 1202 965515 from overseas, or contact the IT Service Desk.

Your username should be prefixed with 'student\' - in other words, the username you log in as would be something like: student\a1234567

If you have difficulty logging-in, try the following:

  • Click the link in the message "You're currently signed in with an Office 365 email account..." then close the internet browser.
  • Start the browser back up and try to log in again.
  • If you still cannot log in, contact the IT Service Desk on 01202 965515, or +44 1202 965515 from overseas.

Not used your account recently?

As part of our commitment to protecting data and promoting security, our IT Services Team periodically review and deactivate alumni email accounts that are not being used. This is part of our endeavours to limit the risk of phishing attacks.

If you have not used your BU email account for more than 365 days, you will be notified that your account will be deactivated. If you still would like to use the account, you will have 90 days to respond and request that your email account remains active.
