Bournemouth University is proud to be hosting the 2024 national Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Conference. Taking place on 19 and 20 June 2024 at Bournemouth University’s Talbot Campus, the conference will bring together those involved in administering KTPs and knowledge exchange activities.

KTPs have been operating in some form or other for nearly 50 years and are a hugely successful and powerful tool for driving innovation and building lasting collaborations between industry and academia.

Conference dates and times are 19 June 2024 (8.30am to 5pm) and 20 June 2024 (8.30am to 2pm). The single ticket price of £320 covers both days of the conference, the gala dinner and entertainment on Wednesday 19 June, and conference catering (excluding breakfast).

Conference theme – ‘Engines of Innovation: Rediscovering our Futures’

Universities are engines of innovation in their local communities. Whilst they’re undoubtedly valuable contributors to the regional economy, in many instances they could deliver so much more.

They are untapped reservoirs of exponential economic growth. The secret to unlocking that potential is exploiting the historic links with that very same community.

Like many towns, cities and conurbations up and down the country, Bournemouth and its higher education institutes (HEIs) are intrinsically linked. The three universities located in the town and their areas of specialism reflect much of the local business ecosystem, and it’s often hard to decipher which came first, the community or the university.

The towns and cities that birthed our HEIs and the businesses based therein need our support as much as we need theirs. By acknowledging our joint histories, we can redefine and reimagine our combined futures, finding new and improved ways of applying the research our esteemed academics uncover.
