World Environment Day is on Wednesday 5 June and is the United Nation's day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment.
To support this important day, please take a look at our sustainability stories on the BU website to find out how BU supports sustainability through our Fusion approach to bringing together research, education and practice. Learn more about the initiatives run by our students, the projects led by our academics and our collaborations with a variety of different organisations – all of which support sustainable environmental practices across both our university and the wider world.
You can also watch a video about a colony of honey bees which have taken up residency on the top of the Fusion Building!
If you’re inspired by any of the sustainability stories on the website then you might be interested in National Bike Week which starts this Sunday and runs until 16 June. Look out next week for more information about all things bike-related at BU, including the BU by Bike scheme and the launch of Beryl Bikes in Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch over the summer.
Sustainability runs through everything we do at BU and is firmly embedded throughout BU2025. Part of our sustainable commitment is to uphold the UN Sustainable Goals, many of which are reflected in World Environment Day.
