Here at BU, we're celebrating the positive impact we've made on global challenges through our international collaborations. Here are just a few of the highlights from another excellent year:
The Turing Scheme
237 students travelled overseas in the 2023 to 2024 academic year, funded by the Turing Scheme.
Kara Price-Jones felt blessed when her supervisor helped set up a psychology research traineeship at Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts, India. ‘I want to aspire for creation of world change,’ she says, in her blog describing how powerful an experience her month living and researching in India was for her personal and professional development. Rachel Ewins achieved her dream of studying abroad, spending a semester at our partner the University of Central Florida, USA. Despite describing herself as nervous of change, she says that ‘nothing has ever felt as right as walking onto the UCF campus for orientation’. Hear her decision-making process and some of the highlights of her time both on and off campus state-side. This year we received a grant of £1.2 million, and we’re using this to send 500 of our students around the world for education, work experience and training. From eco-volunteering or work placements in international businesses, to study exchange and research traineeships with our university partners, the opportunities are endless. What’s more, students will return with valuable skills for future employment, and a global outlook that sets them apart from the crowd. If you’d be interested in providing internship opportunities for our students, or collaborating with us on impactful student mobility programmes, do get in touch at [email protected].
