As part of the Student Village network refresh, Block 4, houses 38 to 54, will have their wireless access points replaced and upgraded. The work will be happening from Tuesday 24 June to Friday 27 June, between 10am to 4pm.
The wireless networks you connect to will remain the same, so you will not need to do anything. The access points are positioned in the corridors, so there will be no need to access any of the bedrooms. We anticipate any wireless outages to be a minimum of 20 minutes whilst the access points reload.
The upgrade is necessary as the equipment is now end-of-life and will need to be replaced. Users connecting to the wireless will notice increased download speeds as part of this upgrade.
If you find there is a prolonged outage or experience connectivity issues at any point, then please do report it to the IT Service Desk on 01202 95515 with as much detail as possible of the problem.
