We understand that sometimes it feels easier to just hand over your login details when someone needs help. But sharing those details with anyone — even your best mate or a family member — is a big no-no.
Why? Because once someone else has access to your account, they can do things in your name. That could mean messing with your university work, accessing private information, or even causing wider issues across BU systems.
Your login details are your responsibility and we’re asking you to never share them with anyone – and that includes us! BU will never ask you for your password and if someone does, it’s probably a scam. If that’s the case, make sure you speak to IT Services straight away.
Keeping your login details safe helps protect your work, your data, and the whole BU community. So, keep them to yourself — and if you ever think your account might’ve been compromised, contact IT Services immediately.
