At BU, we're committed to ensuring our digital spaces are as welcoming and inclusive as our physical ones. Microsoft Teams has recently updated its toolkit with powerful features designed to make collaboration easier, clearer, and more personal for everyone.
Whether you need to focus on text, ensure your name is said correctly, or follow meetings visually, there is likely to be a feature that can improve your daily workflow.
What’s new?
- Pronouns on profile: Help others address you correctly by displaying your pronouns next to your name on your profile card.
- Name pronunciation recording: Eliminate the guesswork for your classmates and other contacts. You can now record your name so others can listen to the correct pronunciation before they call or meet you.
- Live captions: Turn on real-time subtitles during meetings. This is fantastic not just for accessibility, but in noisy environments or when audio quality is poor.
- Immersive reader: Strip away distractions from chat messages and posts. This tool can read text aloud, break it down by syllables, or translate it, making it easier to process information.
- High contrast mode: Reduce eye strain and improve readability by switching the Teams interface to high-contrast colours.
