An extraordinary patchwork garment that has travelled more than 2,000 miles across the UK is arriving in Bournemouth on Tuesday 17 March as part of a national pilgrimage for climate action.
The Coat of Hopes is a ever-evolving handmade coat created from hundreds of stitched blanket pieces. Each patch has been sewn by someone from a community somewhere in the UK, carrying messages of grief, remembrance, prayer and hope for places affected by climate change.
The project is part of a long-term walking pilgrimage raising awareness of the climate and ecological emergency. As it travels from town to town, it invites communities to pause, reflect and come together in response to environmental challenges.
How students can get involved

- Share their own reflections and hopes for the future
- Meet others who care about climate action
