As part of our ongoing commitment to improving the campus, refurbishment works will be taking place on the sports pitches at Talbot Campus from 20 April until late May.
During this time, the affected pitch areas will be temporarily closed, and you may notice increased activity and noise while works are underway. As part of the project, a section of Events Car Park G will also be closed to accommodate a contractor compound. All works will be carefully managed to minimise disruption.

Why we’re doing this
The existing artificial pitches are now at the end of their usable life. This work will ensure the facilities remain safe, accessible and fit for purpose, protecting opportunities for student and staff sport.
The refurbished facilities will include one football pitch and one multi‑use pitch, enabling a wider range of non‑competitive physical activity that supports wellbeing and inclusivity including pickle ball, netball, basketball and tennis. The upgrade will also help sustain community and commercial use during evenings and weekends, ensuring the pitches continue to deliver long‑term value for BU.
