Bournemouth University has been recognised in the Apprenticeship Guide Awards 2026 as the winner of “Best Apprenticeship in Healthcare & Science” for its Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship (RNDA) programme, encompassing Adult Nursing and Mental Health Nursing.
Congratulations also to our apprenticeship franchise partners at Bournemouth and Poole College, who won the Best Apprenticeship in Manufacturing category.
The Apprenticeship Guide Awards recognise excellence in the apprenticeship space and annually celebrate exceptional employers and training providers.
The recognition reflects BU’s strong partnerships with employers, commitment to high-quality apprenticeship provision, and its role in developing skilled professionals across key sectors.
Earlier this year BU ranked in the top 5% of apprenticeship providers nationally in figures published by the Department for Education and we’re pleased to see further recognition within the area of healthcare and science.
Carly Stewart, PVC Dean of the Faculty of Health, Environment and Medical Sciences shares “This is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the commitment, care and expertise that colleagues and partners bring to our healthcare education. The RNDA programme is built through genuine collaboration with employers and practice partners, creating opportunities for people to learn, grow and make a difference within their professions and communities. To receive this recognition in such a strong national field is incredibly well deserved, and I would like to thank everyone who contributes to the outstanding healthcare education taking place across the faculty.”
This is the latest recognition for BU’s apprenticeship programme, after being ranked as an outstanding provider by Ofsted in their most recent inspection.
