Winner Laura Davis with her awardBournemouth University (BU) celebrated the achievements of their apprentices at this year’s Dorset Apprenticeship Awards, held on Friday 29 May.
Laura Davis, a Level 7 Advanced Clinical Practitioner apprentice, won the prestigious Degree Level Apprenticeship Award, with fellow BU apprentice Darren Cabrera named runner-up in the same category.
Organised by Dorset Chamber and the Dorset and Somerset Training Provider Network (DSTPN), and sponsored by manufacturing firm Superior, the annual Dorset Apprenticeship Awards recognise the achievements, commitment and impact of apprentices and supported interns across the county.
The awards highlight the important role apprenticeships play in developing a skilled, future-ready workforce, celebrating both individual excellence and the strength of training programmes across Dorset.

This local recognition follows BU’s recent national success, being in the top 5% of apprenticeship providers nationally in figures published by the Department for Education and winning Best Apprenticeship for Health & Science in the Apprenticeship Guide Awards 2026.
