On Tuesday 5 August, EBSCO will migrate all BU students and staff to a new library EBSCO search interface.
EBSCO is an online research platform that provides access to a wide range of journals, e-books, and other academic resources for libraries and institutions. The new migration will improve accessibility and usability.
You’re encouraged to take the following actions:
1. Familiarise yourself with the new interface
- Visit EBSCO’s tutorials page and their Quick Start Guide to learn how to use the new interface.
2. Review and export saved content
If you have saved searches, bookmarked articles, or custom folders, please do the following before 5 August:
- Visit EBSCO’s migration support page for detailed instructions
- Export saved searches and custom folder contents manually – these will not be migrated automatically
- Be aware: content in default folders will be partially migrated, but formatting is not guaranteed.
3. Backup important search strategies
- For any critical saved searches, we recommend taking a screenshot of the search strategy in the old interface as a precaution.
Head to You Tube to watch a useful video of what the new interface will look like and the benefits it provides. If you have any questions, please contact: [email protected].
